Even More Great Timewasters

By Ned | May 1, 2007

Inspired by yesterday’s discussion of the rules of Megagaltasm, I have two more games to introduce you to. The rules for these two, fortunately, are pretty simple. I’ve taken the liberty of making up the names for them as well.

Non Sequitor

Rules by: Chris and Peter

Like Megagaltasm, this game needs to be played in an English classroom during a group discussion, with an impartial moderator. The moderator picks a random topic, and reveals the topic to all of the contestants. During the class discussion, the first contestant to find a semi-coherent way compare the randomly assigned topic to something regarding the book being discussed wins the game.

Facetio

Rules by: Me and Peter

This game is really simple, an can be played in any group of two or more people. The game begins, usually unannounced, when somebody makes a facetious or intentionally absurd comment. Rather than laughing it off, the other contestants play along and have a straight-faced discussion that becomes increasingly ridiculous, illogical or even outright offensive. The winner of the game is whoever can either make the other contestants laugh or simply render them completely speechless and mortified.
